There was more than one Taylor family.
There was the Samuel Taylor family. That family claims the honor of being Taylor Branch's namesake. Samuel and Susan Taylor had son Emer or Emrah, who married a Patterson girl, whose name is spelled Cerelda in the county marriage record but reportedly Zirilda on her tombstone. Samuel & Susan Taylor also had a son Harvey, possibly a son Horace (who may be the same as Harvey), and a daughter Della.
Another Taylor family descended from brothers John and Robert who came from Scotland in the 1850s.
A third descended from Frank H. Taylor, who came to Table Rock in 1887 to buy and run the Table Rock Argus.
JOHN AND ROBERT TAYLOR
According to Duane Taylor, a descendant still living in Table Rock, four brothers left Scotland in the 1850s, Robert, John, Magnus, and another who went north.
John and Robert Taylor settled south of Table Rock. Magnus Taylor went to Missouri and died young in St. Louis.
In February 2018, Jennifer Fisher Kiefer posted on Facebook in February 2018 to add the missing name: "The fourth brother was James Taylor. If you trace his descendants down you’ll see that in 1917 Edith Prewitt, his granddaughhter or great granddaughter, married Nancy Kern’s grandson, Edward Wyman. Edward was the stepson of John Taylor." After John Taylor's first wife Mary died, he married Nancy Kerns, a Civil War widow with two children, one of whom was Edward.
