the flider drive in
This beloved gathering place was created Ed and Lola Flider. Many remember working there, many more remember going there after games for a hot dog, on hot summer afternoons for an ice cream cone, on a cool winter's day for a darn good hamburger.

I remember it like it was yesterday. My Dad opened the drive in so young kids wouldn’t have to go to the bar after games for snacks. Of course that meant after games and practice I was always working there. It was a great family business and Dad try to make sure it was the best for everyone. It also gave other young kids a place to work. Had a lot of great times there.
Here's another rare photo of the Flider Drive In, shared by Sput Turnbull of the Table Rock Senior Center, who preserves the history of her many diners by, for one thing, borrowing and sharing their photographs. Here is a Trimmer family photo, with Leota Trimmer Uhri, Bert Trimmer, and Reah Trimmer. Photo 3001.
