THE HORTON FAMILY
Civil War veteran Benjamin Horton is buried in the Table Rock Cemetery. According to Susan Gavitt Norton, Ben and his wife Cornelia had 11 children. Three died young -- George and Willie are buried in Table Rock and Daisy in Humboldt. Their other children were Hattie, Elvey, Ludelle, Sidney, Arthur, Nellie (Myrtle), Fred, and Grace. Susan says, "Bless those pioneer women, they sure had to work hard to birth and care for such large families!"
