SUGAR BEET FARMING
There was a brief period when local farmers were urged to grow sugar beets. It didn't take off. Lifetime member Dave Kracman found this article in a trade periodical called The Sugar Beet Era. Dave was researching Wm. H. Harrison, and Harrison turns out to have been one of the main proponents of sugar beets in Grand Island, an interest that he tried to extend to his old hometown of Table Rock.
