Bob Sitzman and Leland Haack, his friend since 3rd grade, work on starting a 1928 McCormick-Deering tractor that Leland had bought from Bob's dad in 1962. (After Leland's death, Bob's daughter Sharla bough the tractor and eventually passed it on to her younger brother Robert, a farmer.

Looks like a one row cultivator mounted on an F-12 Farmall tractor.
Notice the steering wheel rod is parallel to the gas tank. On the F-14 it was elevated towards the rear.
Notice the seat is mounted on a straight metal rod enclosed with a spring which provided straight up and down movement. The seat was attached to the spring loaded pipe with a large washer. The gap between the washer and the metal seat provided enough space to painfully pinch anything sitting on the seat.
Notice the the large spring at the lower half of the picture. This was attached to the cultivator shovel and would trip if the shovel struck a stone. Then you would have to stop the tractor, climb down and reset the shovel, and clear weeds and dirt under a hot tractor which built a lot of character no doubt.
