the sitzman sawmill
Bob Sitzman ran a sawmill and timber business for many years from about 1968. It was located on the south side of the railroad tracks. Within a year or two, Table Rock Lumber (the Edwards mill) went into business on the other side of the tracks. The Sitzman mill was a family business, with family labor supplemented by one or two hired hands. Harry Birdsong was the longtime worker, quite a colorful character. Otis Cameron was another.
