Between about 1947 and 1947, Lillian Heer Bowen taught school. Once she married and started a family, she gave it up. Here are her students one year, none identified. She taught at a country school which Brad believes was across Highway 4 from where Larry Gilbert now lives. Photo 1772.

Brad's grandpa John Covault is the teacher. In the back row, Brad says that the boy second from the right with the bow tie is Leonard Mertes, and the boy beside him is Floyd McKnight. Barb Harris and other Harris family members identify the fourth boy from the right as Art Harris. Also in the back row are Elmer Carter and Arnold Morton, but Brad is not certain which name on the picture is for which boy. The front row from left is Wayne Covault, Margaret Mays, Faye Aylor, an unidentified girl, Zelma Phillips, and Clifford Carter.

john & maud heer were the parents of cecile (cecil) heer. Cecil married stanley bowen. cecil and stanley's kids included johnny bowen, who was the father of brad & greg bowen.
