Jesse Phillips was at one time the postmaster. The first Postmaster
according to history was C. W. Giddings.
M. P. Bashline was the second postmaster in 1879, and then came the
following: Will L. Scism – James Carlot – Scott Linsley – Andrew Lane – Jessie
Phillips – Frank H. Taylor – A. R. Kovanda – Floyd Ritchie – William Vondrasek
– Vernon Sandusky – and Edward Tomek as of 1964.
In 1917, the Upper Brickyard (south of town) reopened with great fanfare, as the Table Rock Brick & Material Company. It had been out of operation for many years. The officers included J. N. Phillips as treasurer.
One of the buildings destroyed by the big 1920 fire on the south side of the square was owned by J. N. Phillips and F. A. Steah.
One of the cars destroyed in the 1930 fire at the Brace Garage was owned by Scott Phillips. The cars of eleven
customers were destroyed , belonging to “Mrs. Heaning (sic?), Scott Phillips,
Floyd Johnson, Ernest Noquist, J. C. Beck, M.B. Johnson, John Kolacney, Frank
Pangburn, Florence Jones, L. M. Greece (sic?), A. N. Aylor, and L. Kelly, a
“county bridge man.”

Ida Phillips married C. I. Norris, a prominent merchant in Table Rock who was a grandson of C. W. Giddings, the founder of Table Rock, and son of C. H. Norris, also a prominent merchant and who owned the brick house at the northeast corner of the Square. A 1940 history, Who’s Who in Pawnee County, noted the marriage in 1887.
