John Burgett went with a group of 37 men to the front lines off of Heart Break Ridge and the Punch Bowl. Those places had been taken in 1951 but trying to maintain the territory was a hell for those who came after. It was said that politics moved slowly while the Army bled. Of the 37 men, after 9 months only 15 were alive. John was one who came home. This is his story.
