fighting indians in the 1870s
account of joseph hayek in table rock about service 1873 - 1878
A "quiet unassuming" man in Table Rock turned out to have been an Indian fighter in the west, with his life placed in danger many times. He knew some of the famous generals. Most interesting is that he saw Custer with his army of 1,100 men leaving for the Little Big Horn and, with the others, received news of the massacre.
