A heart attack was fatal to Alf B. Hansen, 80, prominent pioneer farmer and for the past two years a resident of Table Rock, who died in a field on the Rudolph Klapka farm south of town, Tuesday noon.

At the end of the first pull, Hansen fell dead behind the team.

albert hansen and his 2nd wife, melvina ward
The discovery of a wedding picture of Albert Hansen & Melvina Ward led to an inquiry to a Ward relative, Earline Shaw. Earline checked into it and responded in May 2016:
I found her! She is my 2nd Great-Aunt. Melvina Ward was born 1868 in Grundy IL and is a daughter of Henry Oren Ward & Jesse Buchanan, my Gr-gr-grandparents. She is a sister to William George NM Ward who is my Great-grandfather. The Ward's came to Table Rock from Grundy IL but I’m not sure when.
Melvina married Albert Franklin Hansen, born 25 Dec 1861, and his family has been in Table Rock area for a long time. Their daughter is Jessie May Hansen born 4 Nov 1899. It looks like Albert had 2 children from a previous marriage at the time of wedding Melvina. The census shows Katie and Eddie being born in 1891 and 1893 and their mother being from Bohemia.
Albert’s father, Edward, was born in Sweden 1835 but lived in Table Rock and had 7 children with his wife Abi Bloom Hansen.
Melvina must have come to Table Rock with her brother or to visit her brother then met and married Albert. I’m excited about seeing the picture and wedding certificate.
