cowboys in this here town!
Well maybe not, but there is a fellow standing on the boardwalk with his hands on his hips who MIGHT possibly maybe be a cowboy. Just a thought..... This is the south side of the Square, circa 1887. The store he is in front of -- 2nd from the right -- is still there. For years it was Table Rock Electric, run by Frank Sochor then later his son Joe -- and as of 2019 it is Harry Griebling Photography.
In 1951, a cow girl and a .... very creepy -- clown. Photo 5125, from an album donated by Ines Madden. UPDATE: In September 2019, Betty Ann Siemsen Wilkins, a daughter of Helen Norris Siemsen responded, "OMG that's me!" The clown was her cousin Jean Norris Cheever. Jean's father Charles and Betty Ann's mother Helen were children of Edgar and Frances Norris. And, as Historical Society member Luella Hinrichsen said, back then, clowns were not considered "creepy"!
